There is always a time to win during a slot game, even though many prizes are often on the small side. If you thought A Time to Win sounded familiar, you might be thinking about the Bond movie A Time to Die. That is clearly the spin on this slot, which reveals the theme upfront. However, there is a lot more to discover here yet, and you’ll get all the facts in our game review here.
Which developer created this slot game?
You can thank the hard work put in by the team at Nucleus Gaming for this title.
We do get a demo to try as well
We are always encouraged to see a practice option available with a slot game. We can confirm the presence of one in this title too.
A secret agent theme
If you hadn’t already guessed from our mention of Bond, you should know that secret agents – or one specifically – are involved in this game.
A dramatic design appears on the reels
A familiar car, a nerve center behind the reels, and a watch suitable for a secret agent – all are appearing in this game, along with futuristic-looking letters and numbers occupying the cheaper spots in the paytable.
How to play A Time to Win
There are five large reels here, each showing you three clear icons per reel when everything stops spinning. You won’t see any jackpots with prizes getting progressively larger, unfortunately.
The golden gun is a scatter symbol, and this has a special role to play that we’ll shortly cover. The spy is a wild symbol, appearing in a tuxedo with a bow tie. Watch out too for a safe with a keypad on it appearing on any of the middle three reels.
How many paylines in this game?
There are 10 fixed lines to play on. This means all the lines need to be covered by your wager, but the cheapest one is a good starting point, as we see below.
Choose one bet per spin
The range is a good one, with 20 cents the minimum required to spin the reels for some prize potential. At the opposite end of the scale, you can wager a maximum of $10.
Be aware of the dynamic paytable
All Nucleus Gaming titles that we’ve seen have this feature. It means that once you choose your bet in the game, you can view the paytable to see how that affects your prize amounts.
Bonus safecracker surprise!
Remember the safe we mentioned earlier? Whenever this pops up on the middle three reels, you’ll find one of two things inside. If you find a golden gun, you go through to the free spin mode as highlighted below. If you find a wild, it becomes sticky and you earn a free respin.
Free spins awarded with the golden guns
Find three of these and you’ll get five free games. The triggering weapons then become sticky wilds throughout those games. We know that the wild is the spy, and when the free games begin, those become sticky as well. Whenever one of those appears on the reels, you earn a free respin.
This means your initial set of five spins could well grow once you include a few respins for good measure. A maximum of nine respins is possible here. You can also trigger more freebies via the golden guns.
No return to player value mentioned
This is common throughout Nucleus Gaming titles.
What’s our rating?
We think A Time to Win is a cool game to play if you love secret agent themes. However, there are plenty of features and benefits to playing the game that we think will appeal to lots of players. Certainly an 8/10 game, wouldn’t you say?
Look for the flash car to get the best prize
The familiar sports car is the best prize symbol if you can find it. Five on a line would award the top prize.
